Why the series matters

The same code number can mean different things in two series of one manufacturer. This is why ForkScan Pro assigns every code to the series its source names. If you state the device type when you search, ForkScan Pro shows the codes that apply to it.

Models of the series

The error codes of the series apply to all its models. Where a model has a meaning of its own for a code, ForkScan Pro shows that meaning for the model.

Examples with their meaning

We show these codes here with their description and possible checks, as an example of how ForkScan Pro presents them.

E0

Mitsubishi · FB13 bis FB20 (PNT/PN)

Description

Right traction motor (R.H.) overheating. The controller/motor overheat indicator is lit, and the service tool shows "Alarm status" and E0. The code is recorded in the fault history.

Possible checks

  1. 1.Park the truck safely.
  2. 2.Have the following troubleshooting carried out by the manufacturer's service or qualified personnel.
  3. 3.Let the truck cool down for 15 minutes, then check the overheat indicator.
  4. 4.Indicator off: the right traction motor is back in order. If the fault returns, disconnect the battery plug, release the brake and the parking brake and check whether they drag. Dragging: adjust the brake.
  5. 5.No drag: raise the front wheels, release the parking brake, set the key switch to OFF and turn the front wheels. Check that the right and left wheels take the same effort to turn.
  6. 6.No difference: find out whether the truck is driven on steep upgrades or pulls large loads. If its use is normal, carry out the inverter discharging work and replace the right traction motor.
  7. 7.Difference between the right and left wheels: carry out the inverter discharging work and replace the right traction motor or the front axle.
  8. 8.Indicator still on, with service tool: read the temperature of the right traction motor on the input/output monitor. Between -20 °C and 70 °C (-4 °F to 158 °F): in order. Below -20 °C (-4 °F) or above 70 °C (158 °F): go on with the next step.
  9. 9.Indicator still on, without service tool (or temperature outside the range): disconnect the battery plug, wait until the right traction motor is close to room temperature, then carry out the inverter discharging work.
  10. 10.Unplug connector E-14 (speed and thermal sensor of the right traction motor) and measure the resistance between E-14-2 and E-14-1 on the motor side. Outside 2.2 kΩ at 70 °C (158 °F) to 82 kΩ at -20 °C (-4 °F): replace the right traction motor. Within the range: continue.
  11. 11.Thermal sensor wiring: unplug connector E-07 at the right traction inverter and test continuity between E-07-1 and E-14-1 (1) and between E-07-2 and E-14-2 (2). No continuity: repair or replace the harness. Continuity: continue.
  12. 12.Power supply: test continuity between E-01-3 and E-07-17 (10) and between E-01-6 and E-07-20 (12). No continuity: repair or replace the harness. Continuity: continue.
  13. 13.CAN wiring: unplug connector E-02 at the logic unit and test continuity between E-02-5 and E-07-3 (3) and between E-02-6 and E-07-4 (4). No continuity: repair or replace the harness. Continuity: continue.
  14. 14.Plug in connector E-01 and switch the power on again. Measure the voltage between E-07-18 (11) and E-07-20 (12) (target 8 ± 2 V), then disconnect the battery plug. Voltage not in order: replace the power supply card of the logic unit.
  15. 15.Voltage in order: make sure every connector is plugged in and switch the power on again.
  16. 16.If E0 appears again: disconnect the battery plug, carry out the inverter discharging work and replace the DSP card of the right traction inverter.
  17. 17.If E0 no longer appears: disconnect the battery plug, carry out the inverter discharging work and plug the connector in firmly.

This information helps you classify the error code. Work on the vehicle may only be carried out by qualified personnel in line with the applicable safety rules. The manufacturer's service documentation remains authoritative.

The code and its meaning are checked. Checks, tools and spare parts are additional hints and may be incomplete.
